Join the Center for Global Nursing as we welcome Edna Tallam-Kimaiyo, PhD, RN, MPH, CGNC. Tallam-Kimaiyo is a nurse leader, educator, and policy expert. She is currently a Senior Lecturer and the Head of Community Health at AMREF International University. She is also a member of the Center for Global Nursing’s Global Nursing Advisory Council.
Edna Tallam-Kimaiyo, PhD, RN, MPH
Tallam-Kimaiyo served as the Registrar and CEO of the Nursing Council of Kenya for nine years where she spearheaded regulatory reforms that earned the ICS Champions of Governance Award. Tallam-Kimaiyo has been instrumental in advancing Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) in Africa, including defining scopes of practice, accrediting training institutions, and building faculty capacity. She continues to shape global nursing policy through leadership roles with the International Council of Nurses, including the Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI) and the ODENNA Project, as well as serving as the Joint Secretary to Kenya’s Presidential Taskforce on Human Resources for Health.
