Madhavi Dandu, MD, MPH, was among the first at UCSF – and among the first in the nation – to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. She said: “I received my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine today with the most immense sense of gratitude for science, the amazing human beings that worked faster than we thought humanly possible to help protect us all, and all of those who volunteered to get the vaccine before we knew it was safe.”
Dr. Dandu feels that it’s her responsibility is “to earn the trust of our communities to increase vaccination rates,” and encourages those who are unsure about being vaccinated to consider at these resources:
