Daudi Jjingo, PhD, MRes

Daudi Jjingo is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Makerere University and director of the African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Data-Intensive Sciences (ACE). His leadership advances biomedical research infrastructure and computational capacity across Africa. In partnership with the UC San Francisco Institute for Global Health Sciences, he co-leads the She-Data Science (SHEDS) program, which supports women in data science through graduate training and mentorship. His research spans human and cancer genomics and antimicrobial drug resistance. A Fulbright Scholar, Jjingo earned his PhD in Bioinformatics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, his MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the University of Leeds, and his BSc in Biochemistry from Makerere University.
