Andrea DeLuca, MHS, brings nearly two decades of global health leadership, research, and mentorship experience to UC San Francisco’s Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS). Before joining UCSF, she served as Project Director at Johns Hopkins University for the USAID-funded Strengthening, Mobilizing, and Advancing Research for Tuberculosis Elimination (SMART4TB) Consortium. An accomplished researcher and former faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, DeLuca’s work has advanced infectious disease detection, treatment, and prevention for HIV, tuberculosis, and pneumonia across countries including India, South Africa, Brazil, and Zambia. At IGHS, she oversees global operations, strengthens partnerships, and helps shape the Institute’s priorities, growth, and impact.
