The Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) Global Affiliate Program supports non-UCSF partners with longstanding collaborations with IGHS and IGHS Affiliates. The program seeks to recognize our partners and to build a collaborative global community to increase the collective impact of global health work.
The Global Affiliate Program (for non-UCSF partners) is a program of the UCSF IGHS Affiliate Program (for people across UCSF). This new Program provides resources and recognition to support faculty at non-UCSF institutions who have demonstrated long-standing collaboration with IGHS and IGHS Affiliates.
Eligibility
- Current appointment or post-training employment at a collaborating entity (e.g. university, NGO, Ministry of Health)
- Demonstrated long-term collaboration with IGHS or a UCSF IGHS affiliate member with active membership status in the IGHS Affiliate Program (AP)
- Nomination by >1 UCSF member with active membership status in the IGHS AP
- Completed application form with supporting documents
- Exceptional contributions to global health in line with the IGHS core mission
- Dedication to collaborative work with UCSF and trainees
- Outstanding achievements in global health teaching, research, and/or policy

Requirements for ongoing membership
- IGHS Global Affiliates are expected to maintain ongoing collaborative work with IGHS AP and/or UCSF trainees. Global Affiliates will be asked to renew membership in the program every two years.
Selection process: IGHS Global Affiliate candidates must be nominated by one or more IGHS Affiliates to apply for membership. Nominations will be considered on a rolling basis. All applications will be reviewed and Global Affiliates accepted by the IGHS AP Executive Committee and IGHS leadership. Membership spots per year may be limited.
