Malaria control in Africa faces critical challenges due to shrinking health budgets, climate change, and threats like insecticide and drug resistance. Transformative solutions are needed beyond conventional approaches. Gene-drive mosquitoes, though untested in the field, offer potential to enhance existing interventions. This presentation will explore integrating gene-drive mosquitoes into malaria control, focusing on use cases, adaptive surveillance, and inclusive governance. It will also address climate change impacts on malaria risk, discussing shifts in transmission patterns and responses.
