Ingrid Katz, Director for Behavioral Sciences and Mike Reid, Chief Science Officer for President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Emergency Relief (PEPFAR) / Global Health Security and Delivery (GHSD), will share updates on PEPFAR’s HIV sciences priorities.

Ingrid Katz, MD, MHS serves as the Director for Behavioral Sciences at the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), in the Bureau for Global Health Security and Diplomacy in the U.S. Department of State. She is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Associate Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the former Associate Faculty Director at the Harvard Global Health Institute. Dr. Katz’s focus at PEPFAR is to accelerate and sustain country-driven solutions to closing gaps in care for people at risk for or living with HIV. She received her medical degree from UCSF, and MHS from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and remains a dedicated mentor, receiving the A. Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award, given to 8 of the nearly 12,000 faculty at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated hospitals annually for excellence in mentoring. 

Mike Reid, MD

Mike Reid, MD, MPH, MA, currently serves as the Chief Science Officer for PEPFAR in the Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy in the US State Department. He also serves as Associate Director of the Center for Global Health Diplomacy, Delivery and Economics. He is an HIV clinician and sees patients at San Francisco General Hospital.
