Amelia Deitchman, PharmD, PhD

Amelia Deitchman is a pharmacist-scientist focused on clinical translational pharmacology for infectious diseases, especially HIV cure science. She earned her PharmD and PhD in pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Florida. After joining UC San Francisco as a T32 fellow, she became faculty in 2020 and, since 2022, has co-directed UC San Francisco’s Drug Research Unit, supporting investigators in clinical pharmacology and quantitative pathogenesis. Her NIH-funded research program seeks to optimize antiviral and immunomodulatory strategies toward a functional HIV cure. As an investigator with the AIDS Clinical Trials Group, she has published in Cell Reports, Nature Communications, and the Journal of Infectious Diseases. In 2024, she received the Darrell Abernethy Early Stage Investigator Award from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
