Thirty-five years after participating in the very first AIDS Walk San Francisco, our UCSF community is once again coming together in Golden Gate Park to raise funds for programs and services for those living with HIV.
Thanks to the efforts of UCSF clinicians and scientists, in partnership with public health officials, community partners and others, we have made great progress in the fight against HIV. But a cure remains elusive, challenges to equal rights for the LGBTQIA community remain and many people continue to struggle with health inequities stemming from discrimination, homelessness and poverty.
Proceeds raised in this year’s AIDS Walk San Francisco will help provide long-acting antiretroviral therapies for those living with HIV and homelessness and other services provided by the POP-UP program, based at the legendary Ward 86 at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Beneficiaries also include UCSF’s 360 Wellness Center and other Bay Area programs.
Please join the UCSF AIDS Walk contingent on Sunday, July 17, 2022, to show your support for the community we call home. There will be breakfast before the Walk, and our UCSF teams will be served lunch during the dance party when returning to the park.
