Tanzania Working Group  Dr. Massoud provides Dr. Stephanie Taché a very important tool for working in Tanzania: A Swahili dictionary! Dr. Gilles Hickson looks on To maximize communication among projects and to foster collaboration, GHS facilitates a Tanzania Working Group. The working group plans, coordinates and supports UCSF's programs in Tanzania as well as facilitates communications and linkages with our partners in Tanzania. Group members include faculty and administrators throughout UCSF representing the basic and clinical sciences, health policy, curriculum development, and research administration. The Tanzania Working Group meets regularly to share information on activities in Tanzania and connect various UCSF programs sited in Tanzania. In this way we reduce duplication of effort and increase our intellectual capacity and benefit to the country. We serve as the central UCSF representative in communications with our Tanzanian partners. Discussions are underway to share administrative functions across our projects in Tanzania to gain administrative efficiency that will benefit funders, programs, and Tanzanian partners.
