Domestic Programs

PPHG works not only in developing countries throughout the world, but also right here in California. Together with the Division of Prevention and Public Health in the UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, PPHG is the home of the joint UCSF-University of California, Berkeley joint Residency in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health. (Also, see Kaiser Permanente joint IM/PM program.)

We also conduct domestic research, including projects on the epidemiology and prevention of coccidioidomycosis and hosting the California Tuberculosis Epidemiology Studies Consortium. We have a long-standing partnership with the California Department of Public Health and provide technical assistance to several statewide communicable disease programs, including sexually transmitted disease control, tuberculosis control, HIV/AIDS, bioterrorism preparedness, viral and Rickettsial disease control and childhood immunizations.
