Gates Open Research

Gates Open Research is an upcoming scholarly publishing platform that makes research funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation available quickly and in a format supporting research integrity, reproducibility and transparency. Its open access model enables immediate publication followed by open, invited peer review, combined with an open data policy.

The platform will publish a number of different article types across all of the fields funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, including global health, global development and global policy and advocacy.  Any research funded (or partially funded) by the Gates foundation will be eligible to publish on the platform.

Gates Open Research is controlled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and operated by F1000.

F1000

F1000 pioneered author-led, open research publishing with the launch of F1000Research in 2013, which to date has published more than 1,6000 open access articles.

In November last year it launched its first funder publishing platform in collaboration with Wellcome, Wellcome Open Research.
